C-MCommentary — Chapter M Fabrication and erection

Chapter M includes the following major changes and additions in this edition of the Specification:

• (1) Throughout this chapter, “Shop and Erection Drawings” have been changed to “Fabrication and Erection Documents” for consistency with AISC Code of Standard Practice for Steel Buildings and Bridges (AISC, 2022a).

• (2) Water jet cut bolt holes are now permitted.

• (3) Manual thermal cut anchor rod holes are now permitted.

• (4) Section M2.1 has been revised for clarity when considering heating limits for various grades of steel.
