C-ECommentary — Chapter E Design of members for compression

Chapter E includes the following major changes and additions in this edition of the Specification.

• (1) Throughout this chapter the variable $F_{c r}$ has been changed to $F_{n}$ to better reflect its correct meaning as the nominal stress.

• (2) Provisions have been added to Section E4 to address lateral bracing that is offset from the shear center.
